Fattie Obi

Fattie Obi, originally uploaded by sylviaguillen818.

I’m kind of worried about my little Obi dog. He still has almost 3 weeks left before he gets his final shots and can finally get some exercise. In the meantime, he is eating like a little pig, stealing Cha Cha’s food, eating grass, leaves, rocks, anything that he can get his hands on. He’s always panting like he is all out of breath. And His butt is just HUGE.

I hope he doesn’t turn into a fatass before he has a chance to start working off all that puppy energy that has been repressed due to his sensitivities to the immunization shots. Poor fattie Obi!! :(

That’s one large portrait!

I’m obsessed with dog paintings, and this one is just fantastic!!! I might have to get one of Cha Cha and Obi for my next birthday…hint hint!!!

If you are a dog lover, and an art lover, be sure to check out her website, it has samples of all of her amazingly beautiful illustrations in one spot.

Smile A Mile

well, my perfect pekingese has finally done it. He’s attacked my nephew, he’s attacked my boss’ dog, and he basically has lost his mind all the way. OJ swears that I spoil him literally to have rotted, and so he and I are in behavior bootcamp. Sigh…day 2, and we are both kind of stressed out about it.

The 9th Life

I saw roadkill yesterday morning on Rinaldi on my way to work. It was bright orange, slashed in the middle of the lane for all to see. An Orange Tabby. Someone’s companion for sure. My immediate response was to feel sickened at the thought of losing a pet, but by the time I reached DeSoto, I was recalling all the Orange Tabbys that I have known, which are limited, but high in quality to be sure. Of course, my mind immediately made a list.

1. Vern. My ex husband’s cat. He was a cool guy (Vern, not my ex husband) who did funny things, was mischeivous and attitude ridden. He was hit by a car when I was 2 months pregnant with Mikey. Vern was a cool cat, I’m glad I knew him.

2. Shithead. Yes, that was his name. A friend of a friend’s parent’s gigantic tabby. I think he was half bobcat or something crazy, seriously, that cat was the size of a medium dog. I didn’t know him at all, but nor will I ever forget my path crossing with Shithead the Giant Orange Tabby.

3. Garfield. No comment necessary, he was part of everyone’s life at some point.

4. Heathcliff. Part of my sunday morning for a long part of my childhood.

My condolences to the owners/companions of the dead orange tabby on Rinaldi. In rememberance of Vern, and all cool orange tabbys I’ll post this Heathcliff comic.
